Invited to present at SSEC CMISS

On Sept 14th I’ll be making a presentation to staff of the University of Wisconsin – Space Science and Engineering Center, Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (WHEW long name). The topic will be of DIY NOAA APT and GOES R Satellite Reception using SDR. I have about 7-10 mins for the presentation. I’ll be presenting the fundamentals of how I set up and run the system with software like Orbitron, Wxtoimg, MeteorGIS, Goestools, etc, and the hardware required to receive satellite imagery. I got the invite to present a week ago, and have been working on my powerpoint…feel kind of outclassed as some of these are the folks with the PhDs and Masters in this stuff, and its the birthplace of satellite studies.

Looking forward to it none the less, let’s me show off how my small system operates on auto-pilot.

I’ll try and post the details of the presentation after I give it.
